Why Volunteer

You don’t need to be an expert.

You just need to show up.

Tech Sisters is built by our members, for our members

Behind every event, every job search clinic, every prompt in WhatsApp is a volunteer who made it happen fee sabililah, for the sake of Allah

Volunteering with us is real work with real impact, done alongside women like you

The skills you build, organising, communicating, leading, are the same ones that will help you build your career

A note on commitment

All roles are voluntary and done fee sabililah. We ask for a 3 month term at 1-3 hours per week. What matters most is showing up for your team – communicating openly, meeting your commitment, and letting us know early if something changes. At the end of your term, you can renew, switch roles, or step back. It’s entirely up to you.

We’re planning multiple mini hackathons this year in addition to our main hackathon in November. We’ll need a small admin team to help with applicant sorting and logistics

We’re not recruiting for this yet, but if you love the hackathon and want to be involved behind the scenes, keep an eye out for the announcement!

Project Contributions

Not ready for a full term? There’s another way in

Some of our best community contributions are projects. Defined scope, clear deliverables, done βœ…

If joining a team doesn’t suit you right now, consider proposing a project instead

Lead a month-long cohort around a topic you know well. A shared WhatsApp channel, a course or resource track, a capstone project, or a stand-alone workshop – we’ll support whatever format you want to use.

Help us build clear progression paths for members. What does the journey look like from junior to mid-level to senior? What does it look like in development, data, product, and design? We’re building this for the member site, and we need people who know these paths from the inside
